One More Day!!! 12/15/11

The rest of the kiddos will still get to celebrate, this was just an extra treat to reward these kids for SOARing to greater heights! :)

As a reminder we are building gingerbread houses tomorrow.

& Graham Crackers

Also if you would like to bring in healthy treats for us to enjoy tomorrow that would be awesome too!!! Don't forget everything has to be in prepackaged, store bought containers.

Agenda for 12/14/11

Today's lunch is Chicken Nuggets & Roll

Today in math review we are going to be assessing what we have learned so far this semester in math.

In Math we are going to talk about lines of Symmetry.

We will go to Gym and Lego Engineering.

Our behavior goal is to treat others as we would want to be treated.

AWESOME DAY IN ROOM 302

We got off to a rough start in Room 302. But with some encouragement and hard work we turned it around! Today we talked about Congruent and Similar shapes. We also talked about why standard measurement is needed. Imagine if we only measured things using whatever measurement system we wanted-like the size of a kings foot!
Tonight is a very important meeting for parents! 3rd graders have to take a test called I-Read. Our reading teachers Ms. Zimmer and Ms. Drew are hosting a meeting to tell the parents about the test. We really hope all the parents can make it!

We are Thankful!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! We thought we would take some time to think about who we are thankful for here at Delaware:

We are thankful for Mr. Jaques because if we didn't have him there would be no technology class.

We are thankful for Mrs. Stevens because she never gave up on us in 2nd grade.

We are thankful for Mr. Slagle because he is the boss.

We are thankful for Mrs. Martin because she is a nice person to everyone.

We are thankful for Mr. Dino & Mrs. Tee because they clean the school and help us be clean and healthy. They also help kids.

We are thankful for Mrs. K and Mrs. Hagerty because they watch us at lunch and recess too.

We are thankful for Miss Zimmer because she helps us with our reading and writing.

We are thankful for Mrs. Gmutza for reminding us to be safe.

We are thankful for Mrs. Mortis for helping us learn how to read.

We are thankful for Mrs. Ottilie for always being here.

We are thankful for Mrs. Bryant for always making us feel better.

We are thankful for all of the daycare teachers because they take good care of us when our parents can't.

We are thankful for the Lego Dude Mr. Hape, because he not only has in class but he watches us in the morning.

We hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend!

Today we came back to school and began working hard on measurement. I wonder how many things we can measure in one day?

This week we are working really hard to reduce the amount of times we talk out when a teacher is talking.

Today is Election Day. The city of Evansville will decide who it's new mayor will be.

It was very warm outside today and we enjoyed playing outside.
Tomorrow is going to be much colder, so we need to remember to dress warm!!!

We are sooo excited to have a new student with us! Ashanti came to us from Evans! :)

Monday, November 7th

This week starts a short week. No school Friday, Happy Veteran's Day!

Today we started our measurement unit.

We also learned how when we bully or hurt someone's feelings the scars don't always go away.

Smile pretty! Today was our picture day!

Tiffany, Sabrina, Billy & William were our rockstar students today! They were by far the best listeners and followed every direction given to them!
Way to go guys, keep up the great work!!!!
Tomorrow maybe we can have even more names on our rockstar list!

We are working very hard on our math facts every night....before you know it, we are going to be very fluent with our facts.

Tuesday, November 1st

We got so busy yesterday that we lost track of time and didn't blog. :(
Today is the first day of November!
We took our post test on inverse operations.
The 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grade students all met in the gym this afternoon for an assembly. The assembly featured a guest speaker who talked to us about bullying. He was funny!
We were all a bit crazy today...Mrs. Gossman is hoping it's all the candy working it's way out of our system. Hopefully tomorrow we will be much calmer!

Friday, October 28th, 2011

We are working very hard today. If we get everything done we will have time for our fall party. We have lots of goodies to share!

Today those people with perfect attendance got to have Papa John's Pizza for lunch. It was yummy!

Because Monday is Halloween, we have been listening to Halloween music while we work.

Tomorrow is the weekend & we get to sleep in...WOO HOO!

Today was a busy day! We took our division test and can't wait to see how we did.

We are looking forward to seeing people start to follow our blog.

Spanish class rotation ends tomorrow, we will be going to Lego Engineering starting Monday.

We are still working to get drops in our class bucket.

Tomorrow if we earn it, we may have a Fall Party the last period of the day. If people want to bring in healthy snacks, that would be awesome!!!

Wednesday, October 26th

Today was a fun day! We learned how to get on ANGEL to talk to our new friends from Evans.

Today we had Technology and Spanish. We also got recess outside right before it started to rain!

We grouped evenly and subtracted repeatedly and now we are all division masters! We are going to take our post test tomorrow!

Our First Blog!!!

Today is our first blog!

This morning we started our "How Full is Your Bucket?" contest and we already have one drop in our bucket!

For the past week we have been working on division. Today we practiced using repeated subtraction and equal sharing to solve division problems.

Last week we finished up our table top community in social studies.

We are looking forward to using this blog to let everyone know what we are doing in our classroom!
