Hello!

We are lucky to have another person join us in our classroom! William Neel joined us today from Owensboro, KY. Welcome!

This week we are working on 3D Geometric shapes. Our test will be on Friday.

Don't forget next week is a short week. No school on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

ISTEP is rapidly approaching. We are working very hard! It's very important that math facts are practiced at home every night. It is sooo helpful when working out problems to have a fluent background of the basic math facts!

Here's an ideas to make practice more fun:

*Addition/Subtraction/Multiplication War-play like traditional card game war only the first person to correctly answer the math problem wins that pair of cards.

You can find more ideas at:

Here are some fun pictures from this week:

Today we have been very busy!

We reviewed changing inches to feet and centimeters to meters.
We have also been talking about lines of symmetry and reflection.

In science we practiced using the balance scales and measured different objects with our science groups.

We are very excited to have a new student in our class. Ke'Juan Shelby is joining us from West Terrace Elementary. :)

This month and next month are very busy for us as we prepare for ISTEP. We need to make sure that we all come to school prepared to learn.

Tomorrow report cards will be coming home along with a report from Mrs. Gossman telling how we did in each topic that we studied. You may keep these reports, but please return the letter letting Mrs. Gossman know that you got them- as soon as possible.

Also Friday is our Field Trip to the Library. We will leave at 9 and return around 10:30. If you haven't turned in your $1 please do so soon.

Until tomorrow.....
